The Feat Lives On: Dixie Chicken Tribute Band

  • Dixie Chicken celebrates the music of Little Feat. At its core, the band includes Juno-nominated bandleader John Fraser Findlay, Craig Riley, and Tracey Gallant, supported by a rotating cast of Toronto’s finest session musicians. After recording with Bill Payne, founding member of Little Feat, in 2015, Findlay was inspired to fire up Dixie Chicken and hit the Canadian bar and festival circuit with great success, bringing the charismatic grooves of Lowell George and the iconic 1970s blend of rock, funk, country, and New Orleans flair to audiences.

  • John Fraser Findlay, Juno-nominated guitarist, vocalist, pianist, and producer, leads Dixie Chicken. A Berklee alum, Findlay blends rhythm and blues, funk, and swamp-infused jazz-rock, bringing bold grooves, emotive solos, and storytelling flair to every performance. With years of experience performing and recording with acclaimed artists, he delivers the authentic sound and energy that fans of Little Feat know and love.

  • Craig Riley is a soulful percussionist and vocalist whose groove and energy help define the sound of Dixie Chicken. His musical journey began with Led Boots Jimi, who opened for The Byrds in 1990, and his vocal style was shaped by Tobi Lark, the powerhouse singer from Ronnie Hawkins’ band and the Toronto production of Hair. He has worked with a wide range of respected musicians, including Glenn Marais and the Mojo Train, Al Connelly of Glass Tiger, James Miller, Ian DeSousa, Joey Gaitanis, and Cam MacInnis. Craig brings rhythmic feel, vocal warmth, and the authentic spirit that fans of Little Feat love, cementing him as a core member of the band.

  • Tracey Gallant is a captivating and energetic performer based in Toronto, known for her versatile voice and dynamic stage presence. She has performed across Canada, the U.S., the Middle East, Morocco, and the Caribbean, covering a wide range of musical styles while also writing her own original music.
